Welsh traders have always done well at the British Street Food Awards. Cafe Mor took home Best of the Best in 2012 — and one heck of a prize. Brother Thai won Best Vegetarian in 2017. But street food in Wales is now evolving at such a rate that we needed to evolve too. A “Wales and the West heat” wasn’t enough any more. So, for 2018, we are launching the Welsh Street Food Awards.

We’re collaborating with Street Food Warehouse, the inspirational street food events company from Cardiff, and a spectacular bit of Pembrokeshire coastline, to put on one massive Welsh food fight. In the Milford Haven marina, the finalists will be cooking up tasting plates to win votes from you (the general public) and our esteemed panel of judges. At stake? Bragging rights. The winners will go on to London to represent Wales in the finals of the British Street Food Awards in September. And, if they’re victorious, they’ll win £1,000 to put towards travel and accommodation as they sail off to represent Britain at the massive European Street Food Awards in Berlin. But it all starts in Pembrokeshire this summer..check out the Facebook event page.
