Scots Wha’ Hae!

After 2022 proved to be the best year EVER for street food in Scotland, the Scottish Street Food Awards are back! Scottish traders won big at the finals of the British Street Food Awards in London AND the European Street Food Awards in Munich, and finalists will be hoping for a repeat performance in 2023 when they park up at The Neighbourgood Market in Edinburgh on the weekend of July 22/23. The finalists will be trading in Stockbridge all week, and then competing to win YOUR vote on the weekend. Competing this year will be:

Kochchi – (pictured) who won the Spice Award sponsored by Cobra in 2022. The Glaswegian exponents of Sri Lankan eats such as Hot Butter King Prawns are back with their new pan-Asian brand Okanda. The Falafel Stop – delivering fresh, homemade falafel and hummus prepared to a family recipe. Wanderers Kneaded – winners of the Scottish Street Food Awards back in 2018, back to do it again. Delightfully Delicious – started sweet, sweet, sweet but now mixing it up with their game-changing buttermilk fried chicken. Fred’s Backyard Barbecue – new to the game, but already king of the coals. Bia – with a Celtic-inspired menu of street food classics. Sando – bringing Asian flavours to the capital, with a Katsu Curry Chicken Sando that will change your life. Choola – with momos forever, giving Nepalese food a modern twist. Black Pearl Creole Kitchen – with a new take on fire. And the Funnel Cake Co – with deep fried, dreamy, drizzly, doughnut-like confections.
