Into The Dragons’ Den

Blimey. It all started so well! Check it out here. I got a proper grilling, and my nerves definitely got the better of me. The best thing about the pitch was the food from Ginger’s Comfort Emporium and Pellizco! Peter Jones really didn’t get the business (a street food competition that’s all over the UK, in 16 countries in Europe, and launching in the USA this Autumn) and I really didn’t explain it properly. Although I came away with zero investment I’ve been inundated with business opportunities since it screened. It’s always worth giving things a go. And a year on (the Den was filmed in 2022) the business is going great guns, and my passion for showcasing the best in street food is stronger than ever. There are plenty of stories about ‘the ones that got away’. Maybe I’m the next Trunki or Tangle Teezer.

A MASSIVE thank you to Majisign for our impossibly large trophy, and love and kisses to Pellizco and Ginger’s Comfort Emporium – two previous winners of the British Street Food Awards – who came along to support, and genuinely wow the Dragons with their food. We’ve got the best ever summer of competition this year. We’re finalising sponsors and partners, and will shortly announce the heats for the British Street Food Awards, the European Street Food Awards (16 countries and counting) plus – in the Autumn – the first ever USA Street Food Awards, with a Vegas night market final. Get involved.

PS Spoiler alert. It’s not a loft. It’s all on the ground floor – and the Dragons don’t actually live there all the time. Who knew?
