School Diner
Wimbledon has the Queens Club Championship; the Premier League has the Community Shield. Big, prestigious events where tennis players can really test that new racket – or football managers get to try out their new back four. That’s how we see Leeds’ premier Street-Food-In-A-School-Playground event, School Diner, which returns on September 14-16. Two finalists from the 2018 British Street Food Awards will be there to perfect their dishes before the London finals at Hawker House on September 21-22. Expect doughnut heaven from British Street Food Awards Northern winners Doh’hut, plus the Bao Boss – and British Street Food Awards Midlands winners – Wallace & Sons. They will be parked up alongside some other of our favourites including The Pizza Bus, BBC Food & Farming Award winner Manjit’s Kitchen, Sheffield stalwarts and poutine pioneers The Gravy Train, and Birmingham’s finest Burger slingers, Flying Cows, who are the current reigning British Street Food Award Best Burger champs. As with all School Diner events you can also expect craft beer and cocktails from the Sela Bar Truck alongside live music, DJs, entertainment and fun for all the family – plus, it’s dog-friendly!
