Richard Johnson

People’s Choice Award

To be honest, this is the sort of prize they like to offer on GMTV. Presented by that girl who used to spin the wheel on Wheel of Fortune. But to win this little lot, you don’t have to dial a premium rate number. You just have to turn up at Fifteenstreet this weekend — hungry. Then, when you’ve eaten your way round the best street food in Britain, exercise your democratic right by voting for your favourite in the People’s Choice Award. When the Awards are handed out, at 4.30pm (ish) on Sunday afternoon, a name will be picked out at random. That name will belong to a person who will then have to try and take home (clears throat) a box of Jamie Oliver/Fifteen merchandise, including an oven glove, a brownie tray and an apron, a £100 dinner at Fifteen and a signed Jamie Oliver cookbook, with a butchery masterclass at Barbecoa thrown in for good measure. Oh, there’s also a professional ice cream maker from Cuisinart (above). And a copy of Street Food Revolution by the  founder of the British Street Food Awards Richard Johnson. Eat — then Win Stuff. No wonder this revolution is winning over the people….
