The Second Best Festival This Summer?
Here at the British Street Food Awards, we’ve always seen Wilderness as our slightly posh country cousins. The BSFA with cravats on, if you will — a wonderful festival, lovingly curated in Oxfordshire by the producers of Secret Garden Party and Lovebox.
It brings together music, food, talks and debates, theatre, outdoor pursuits and late-night spas for a weekend celebration of the arts and the outdoors in the beautiful Cornbury Park. And we’re delighted to be able to offer up two free tickets — so read on. The musical performances are led by RODRIGO Y GABRIELA (with C.U.B.A), WILCO, SHARON JONES AND THE DAP-KINGS, SPIRITUALIZED, CRYSTAL FIGHTERS, STORNOWAY, LIANNE LA HAVAS, FATOUMATA DIAWARA and many more. But it’s the food we really love. When Christ was in the Wilderness, it was all honey and locusts. But it’s improved since then. These days they really get the community of food. Unmissable long table banquets are being hosted by YOTEM OTTOLENGHI, VALENTINE WARNER AND FERGUS HENDERSON (ST JOHN), with feasts from Sam & Sam Clark of Moro (who have also been selected as finalists for the BSFA in September), and food workshops and wizardry from Southrop Manor’s Thyme Cookery School. All you need to do to be in with a totally random chance to win two tickets for Wilderness is (in the great GMTV tradition) pick the correct answer to the following question:
Who is hosting a long table banquet at this year’s Wilderness? Is it:
A. Ainsley Harriot
B. Nigel Slater
c. Yotem Ottolenghi
